I'm guessing this is a wildly unpopular opinion but here goes: I found Into Infinity nearly unwatchable. I don't mean this to sound insulting for anyone who liked it (tastes differ thanks goodness!) but the tone felt to me like a goofy comedy and almost like a kids show by the end.

I know Black Museum and White Christmas are much liked episodes, and I can definitely see why, but it's odd how much they both rely on narration/flashback (and that both involve copied consciousnesses). Anyone else find these similarities really striking?

For any professors who have published academic books, what seems (just in very rough terms) like a reasonable amount of time to get the page proofs back from the publisher after you have sent in your last set of substantial revisions to the ms?

This subreddit is for discussing academic life, and for asking questions directed towards people involved in academia, (both science and humanities).

"Thanks for a great semester!" When you see lines like this accompanying students' email submission of the semester's last assignment (like an exam or paper), how do you take it? Does it feel affirming, or do you think some students write it as a matter of polite/best practice?

This is honestly not meant to be a rant or just venting, rather I am genuinely curious if others have had the same experience I have: namely, that students over the last few years seem to be having greater difficulty doing the same tasks that I've assigned for years.

Why is the prosecution playing videos of Sarah complaining about Jorge abusing her? I'm sure I'm missing something, but how does this help the prosecution?

I know this seems incredibly petty given the very serious stakes in the trial, but if there is room for such things here, I'm interested in any thoughts/reactions about Judge Kraynick saying "bless you" when people sneeze.
